DEVELOP South Africa launches new entry-level production printer with a convincing profile

JOHANNESBURG  - September 09, 2014 – DEVELOP South Africa has launched its latest production printer designed to meet the specific needs of corporate print rooms, print shops, print providers, high-volume offices and advertising agencies. The ineo+ 1060L offers maximum productivity, ease of use, media flexibility, and a quality print in the entry-level production printing segment.

“The biggest challenges in production printing environments are short print runs, tight turnaround times and the additional time and cost of offline finishing,” explains Marc Pillay, managing director of DEVELOP South Africa. “The ineo+ 1060L production printing offering provides excellent value for money. It is the ideal solution for those looking for high performance features in a cost effective machine.”

The new machine promises to increase productivity by shortening turnaround times and by making short-run printing more lucrative. “This print system can deliver up to 3,316 pages per hour which makes high-volume printing possible. It also requires minimal user intervention, which in turn maximises uptime.”

In today’s market a production printing system has to be easy to set up and operate with tight deadlines and heavy workloads often ruling out lengthy training sessions. Pillay continues: “This device has been designed to shorten learning curves and maximise machine uptime. With minimal training required to operate these systems, print providers can get the machine working, and earning money, in no time at all.”

Though flexibility is crucial in any production printing environment, commercial print shops and print providers are particularly keen to extend their portfolio to generate new business. The prerequisite is greater media flexibility, which is one of this machine’s strengths. Thick and coated paper, for example, is reliably fed in via an air-assist unit and an enhanced air-blow fusing separation mechanism has improved the feeding of thin paper. Automatic two-sided printing is possible for paper of up to 300gsm. By safely handling such a wide range of media, this machine makes new digital printing applications technically possible and commercially feasible.

A paper catalogue function that facilitates paper settings, and easy-to-follow onscreen instructions that ensure rapid removal of any paper jams, exemplify the machines’ user-friendliness.

Critical features of the ineo+ 1060L include a print resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 x 8 bit; best-in-class image quality, thanks to S.E.A.D.IV image processing; more natural textures, through the new high-definition polymerised toner; enhanced colour density adjustment; and high-precision centering correction. “This offset-like print quality enables digital print providers to compete in the lucrative production printing market,” concludes Pillay.
